We are so excited to have been featured in the most recent Nevada In the West magazine issue! We were given permission to share this article on the Mary Lee Nichols School, the oldest school building in the city of Sparks – and now home to Windy Moon Quilts Sewing Center! We hope you enjoy this article as much as we did.

One comment on “One Hundred Years for the Mary Lee Nichols School

  • I attended this wonderful school in the 50’s. I was home bound during the first half of my 3rd grade year because I came down with polio. Mrs. or Miss McKnight was my teacher then and was, as I recall, the swellest (a 50’s word?) teacher I ever had. Mary Lee Nichols elementary must have been a wonderful foundation school because I managed to graduate from Sparks High School many years (1961) later!!! I will be attending the 100th year celebration on September 23, 2017 with my sister Carole. We hope to see a lot of our class mates there!
