On June 15, 1861 John and Agnes Cuddy saw their sixteen year old son leave their home in Carlise, Pennsylvania to enlist in Company A of the 36th Pennsylvania Infantry. The seventy-seven letters he sent home described the experiences of a young solider in the Union Army. His letter are part of the Dickson College's on line digital archive, "Their Own Words".
